Hope Reformed Church
I was born in 1956 in Greeley, CO. and lived in George, IA, for a time in the late '50's with my parents. My dad was the principal at George High School. We then moved to Orange City in the summer of 1961, which is where I lived until moving to Holland, MI in 1990 to attend Western Theological Seminary. I'm a 1994 Western Seminary graduate.

I graduated from Northwestern College in Orange City, IA, in 1978 with a major in journalism. Prior to attending seminary, I was in broadcasting for 15 years - if you add up my part-time and full-time years. It was in 1975 that I began working at KVDB Radio in Sioux Center, IA, on a part time basis - which changed to full-time status in the summer of 1982. I was kind of a 'jack-of-all-trades' - starting out working weekends and nights, and eventually (in 1981) began working the morning shift on a daily basis. I also wrote and produced commercials, was the FM Program Director, and 'subbed' in the news, sports and advertising departments when the need arose. Between 1978 and 1982 I also was the part-time Audio-Visual Coordinator at Northwestern.

My wife, Lori, and I were married on January 2nd, 1996 - and I quickly learned the ropes of being a step-parent. We're the parents of Nick and Curt - plus Erik, Seth and Abby, who were born on February 23, 1999. (Yep - they're triplets!).
